Usually blue is a relaxing color however I do not feel relaxed while looking at this picutre. Due to the composition and subject matter I am not sure any color would feel relaxing.
first, i like the change you made from your work in progress to now, the fur works so much better this way, although i probably wouldnt have complained about the other way either. love that the whole background is blurred.
the movement in this photo is great, and makes me want to move out of the way of this dog! i think the contrast between the action and the blue is interesting and has the potential to make the view uncomfortable (in a good way, evoking emotion). I also think the subtle tones of purple help to pull out detail and dimension.
I really like this picture. I liked watching you work on it in class. I enjoy the sense of motion in the background off to the right. I think I would have liked to see colors that were a little bit more contrasty vs. colors that seem to blend in with each other.
Great image, capturing the movement with effects around the subject is powerful. The choice of bluish gray color works! I almost want to pop some crazy color in his eyes, maybe teeth...

ReplyDeleteA simple composition, but one that seems to evoke noise and fury with the closeup of the barking dog and the blurred background.
